Chainolakes Recording: Rates
Hourly Rate
The basic hourly rate is $40/hour, which includes any technical or musical services such as:
• Recording/Overdubs • Editing/Mixing • Mastering • Arranging • MIDI work
The number of hours you require depends directly on several factors, including how well-prepared you are to record, and the complexity of the project. For example, if you have one well-prepared song that doesn't require a lot of extra layers or work, you can figure about three hours time to create a completed CD (one hour to record, two hours for mixing and mastering). Using this, you can roughly figure that a one-song demo will be about $120, a 5-song demo would be about $600, and a 12-song CD would be just under $1,700.

Estimates
If you would like to get a more accurate estimate of the cost of your particular project, simply email the details and I will be happy to send you an estimate.
Studio Musicians
I can recommend and subcontract excellent studio musicians should your project need it. To do this would require another $40 per hour, in addition to the basic studio charges. Personally, I am a professional pianist and would be willing to contribute piano tracks at this same rate.
CDs
All work done with CDs, including artwork, copying, or manufacturing is covered by the hourly rate, plus any materials. For larger quantities, you may want to consider a CD duplication company, such as Discmakers or Diskfaktory (see the "links" page).
