It gets a little packed in the studio, with 6-9 students and instruments in the performance room and several in the control room with me, but it's a lot of fun!  Here's a picture of the first groups that came.  First Group 1: Then group 2: Later, the Middle School jazz combo came in and recorded five tunes in just under two hours.  They did a great job!  Here are some pictures from that session: Check out the podcast to hear one of the tunes recorded by the jazz combo.  Great job everyone!

]]> Wed, 21 Apr 2010 18:45:00 GMT 7D3F09078D43208F080AEA644DDF1EF8 Studio Update: Lotsa Projects! http://muserecording.com/newsblog.cfm?feature=622739&postid=43709 This has been a busy several weeks at Chain-O-Lakes, with projects ranging from concert recordings to independent projects to cassette-to-CD transfers!  Here are some details: Choir Concerts.  Stevens Point's <a href="http://www.monteverdichorale.org/">Monteverdi Chorale, the <a href="http://www.wausaulyricchoir.com/">Wausau Lyric Choir, and the <a href="http://www.fineartsfestival.org/">Waupaca Fine Arts Festival Choir and Orchestra all had recent spring performances, and Chain-O-Lakes Recording was there to capture the moment and produce sale-ready CDs.  Each one of these ensembles had performances to be proud of, and I was privileged to be a part!  For more info on how these kinds of projects work, visit the <a href="./liverecording.cfm">Live Recordings page. Commercial Projects.  Christian songwriter and longtime client <a href="http://livingthepromiseministries.com/">Rick Stephenson is continuing to work on his second CD of original music (yet untitled).  This last month, drum tracks were recorded by session drummer John Kelley.  Rick continues to make inroads into the music industry, and we're excited to see where his music will take him! Personal Projects.  Lori Blanke, vocalist with local singing group One Achord, is working on an independent project featuring songs written by her mother and some other contemporary worship songs.  Her husband and two daughters are also featured as vocalists on the new CD.  Another local singer, Casey Niesen, is just starting a personal project to give to friends and family.  What a great gift! Other Projects.  I am always open to "non-traditional" projects, if I have the resources to make them happen.  I just produced a DVD for local piano teacher Louise Hansen that she will use as a video demo of her playing.  Finally, a UW-Stevens Point professor of political philosophy has commissioned the studio to transfer lecture recordings of another professor to CD for historical record and archiving. Too much variety?  Nope.  I like it all--keep 'em coming!  Thanks for checking in.
